Summertime Dream Show

July 11 – July 31, 2026

Our new Group Show called Summertime Dream (thank you Barry Coombs and Gordon Lightfoot) will be held at the peak of the summer season. It will replace the Island Art Show and the Square Foot Show. The new show is open to both Island and off-Island artists whose artistic dreams will all be displayed in one memorable exhibition.

We will welcome back our regular artists who have faithfully participated in our past group shows, and we are always looking for new artists of all ages. We will accept a wide variety of artwork, for example, paintings in oils, acrylics, watercolours or mixed media, square foot pieces, drawings, photographs, fiber art, ceramics, wooden work, and metal work.

This show will be an important fundraiser for the Gallery. Artists may submit up to five pieces. The entry fee will be $10 per submission, and the Gallery will charge a modest 25% commission on sales.

If you wish to participate in this show, complete the Entry Form and submit it to the Gallery office by July 04. Entry Fees of $10 per submission are payable by e-transfer (gmag2121@gmail.com), or cheque made payable to the Gallery, and mailed to the Treasurer, Grand Manan Art Gallery, 10 Marathon Lane, Grand Manan, NB, E5G 3A3.

Artwork must reach the Gallery by July 09. For the convenience of mainland artists, artwork may be taken to By The Sea Framing, 122 Water Street, St. Andrews, NB on June 08 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

There will be no restrictions on sizes or framing, but submitted work must be ready to hang, and a label with the name of the artist, medium and title of the piece must be attached to the back of the artwork. Artists are advised that an image of their artwork may be used for publicity purposes to promote the show.

Work that is mailed, or sent by courier, must be in a reusable shipping container with a return address. Unsold art may be collected at closing (6:00 PM) on July 31, or no later than noon on August 01.

Gallery visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite pieces, and People’s Choice Awards of a Grand Manan Art Gallery T-shirt plus $200 (First Place), $150 (Second Place) or $100 (Third Place) will be given for the three most popular works in the show. In addition, young artists up to age 19 may be eligible for a Young Artist Award of a Gallery T-shirt and a $150 gift certificate for art supplies.
